Pet Owner Rights from Tyranny Intrusion![]() Dogs look up to us, Cats look down at us, Pigs think they are equals, but PETA & Animal Rights Activists Kill your Pets. If PETA had there way, no one would be allowed to own a pet of any kind..... PETA, which should stand for: People Exterminating Terrified Animals, stated the following: "I don't use the word "pet". I think it's specistist language. I prefer "companion animal". For one thing, we would no longer allow pet shops....eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship, enjoyment at a distance." Ingrid Newkirk, PETA vice president, quoted in Harpers Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223. "Pet ownership is an absolutely abysmal situation brought about by human manipulation." Ingrid Newkirk, national director, People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Just Like Us? Toward a Nation of Animal Rights" (symposium), Harper's, Augest 1988, pg. 50. "The cat, like the dog, must disappear.....we should cut the domestic cat free from our dominance bt neutering, neutering, and more neutering, until our pathetic version of the cat ceases to exist." John Bryant, Fettered Kingdoms: An Examination of A Changing Ethic (Washington, D.C.: People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) 1982,pg.15.) "The bottom line is that people don't have the right to manipulate or breed dogs and cats...If people want toys, they should buy inanimate objects. If they want companionship, they should seek it with their own kind." Ingrid Newkirk, national director, People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Animals, May/June 1993 The above statements are truly "Perverted" in their thinkiing about God given blessings of our pets and animals. That is not all you need to know, about People Exterminating Terrified Animals..Read on.. Seven Things You Didn't Know About PETA and "Animal Rights Activists." 1. PETA has stated repeatedly that their goal is "total animal liberation." This means no owning pets, no meat, no milk, no zoos, no circuses, no fishing, no leather, and no animal testing for lifesaving medicines. 2. PETA has given tens of thousands of dollars to convicted arsonists and other violent criminals. 3. PETA funds the misnamed Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, an animal-rights organization that presents itself as an unbiased source for nutritional information and has links to a violent animal-rights group called SHAC. 4. PETA has used their contributors’ tax-exempt donations to fund the North American Earth Liberation front (ELF), an FBI-certified “domestic terrorist” group responsible for fire bombs and death threats. 5. PETA regularly targets kids as early as elementary school with anti-pet, anti-meat and anti-milk propaganda PETA "trash-literature." 6. PETA spends less than one percent of its $13 million budget actually caring for animals. PETA animal shelters have the highest rate of euthanizing pets and animals recorded in their shelter programs. 7. PETA has repeatedly attacked groups like the March of Dimes, the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and the American Cancer Society, for conducting animal testing to find cures for birth defects and life-threatening diseases. How the 'Humane Society of the United States' (HSUS) Got Started Before you get into their fuzzy economics you have to realize that there is an enormous difference between animal "welfare" organizations, which work for the humane treatment of animals, and modern animal "rights" organizations, which work to completely end hunting and even the ownership of animals. The former have been around for centuries; the latter emerged in the 1950s and grew fanatic in the 1980s with the rise of radical animal-rights groups like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). "Animal-rights groups are a modern concoction that parallel the growing urban detachment from the natural world," said Doug Jeanneret, director of communications for the U.S. Sportmen`s Alliance. "It`s hard to imagine 19th-century farming communities erecting billboards that claim milk causes cancer." HSUS actually began as an animal-welfare organization. Originally called the National Humane Society, it was established in 1954 as a splinter group of the American Humane Association (AHA). Its founders wanted a more extreme group. Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President of the NRA, aptly explains in his book Guns, Freedom and Terrorism that "PETA has quietly succeeded in achieving a bloodless internal takeover of HSUS." PETA Still Has Something to Hide - Euthanasia preferred to adoptions stats. The animal “rights” activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) are none too happy about PETAKillsAnimals.com. We’ve had over four million visitors since we launched in 2005, thanks in large part to our billboard in Times Square, word-of-mouse online, and gobs of coverage from the mainstream press. Millions have seen firsthand the irrefutable evidence that PETA, which publicly proclaims that bunnies and babies are morally equal, kills animals by the thousands. Our damning documents come courtesy of the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), which requires “humane societies” to annually report their euthanasia rates. PETA filed the required “Animal Record” reports from 1998 to 2005. These records show that during those years, PETA killed over 14,400 dogs, cats, and other shelter pets at its Norfolk headquarters. PETA’s solution to what could generously be termed an ongoing “credibility problem” is brilliant in its simplicity: Just ignore the law. PETA is no longer complying with VDACS’ legal reporting requirement. Online records show PETA has only filed 2006 information on collected wildlife, not shelter animals. But even the incomplete figures are true to form: PETA employees killed 248 out of 249. (If they’re willing to admit to that, imagine what they’ve decided to keep secret.) Public records show that in January 2007 PETA’s Manager of Corporate Affairs e-mailed VDACS a request for an extension of the January 31 deadline. VDACS responded by asking PETA to provide a reason for an extension. A January 23 e-mail from PETA’s General Counsel to VDACS requests the specific extension date of March 1. The official reason: The PETA personnel responsible for filing the report would be tied up in the trial of two employees charged with stealing, killing, and dumping shelter pets in North Carolina. (Just so we’re clear: PETA was too busy defending two of its animal-killing employees to calculate the body counts of its other animal-killing employees.) A response e-mail that same day from VDACS granted the extension. March 1 came and went. And PETA still hasn’t filed the required report about the disposition of all the dogs and cats it took in during 2006. A May 16 reply from PETA’s top lawyer restates PETA’s objection to the rule, but promises to “set apart animals handled for spay and neuter so that there can be no misunderstanding or misinterpretation …” Why is PETA so adamant about including spay-and-neuter pets? Our theory: Obviously none of those animals get “put down.” So if they’re part of the overall figures, PETA’s kill rate looks smaller than it actually is. Regardless, PETA is currently “out of compliance” with Virginia law. The public has the right to know how many “companion animals” met their demise on the business end of a PETA syringe last year. We won’t stop digging until we have answers. HSUS, PETA and Animal Rights Activist Misinformation Campaigns The answer to where HSUS` money comes from starts with its name, which was picked to confuse people into thinking they are one of the reputable "humane societies" that run animal shelters around the country. But though HSUS raises enough money to finance animal shelters in every state, it does not own or run a single one. HSUS feeds off this animal welfare - animal rights confusion. It's time for Americans to take back their rights to freely and responsibly own their pets and animals without 'intrusion' by tryanny organizations, groups, governments or individuals, using 'perverted' anti-pet laws and ordinances devised by Animal Rights Activists, pretending to care about your pets. It's a fraud, waste and abuse of your rights as pet owners. We the People, want to express our appreciation to you for taking an "active" interest in preserving "your" rights to freely own your "pets" and "animals" without intrusion by the government, individuals, or "animal rights activist" groups or organizations. Whose sole mission are to "eliminate" and "destroy" our freedom, liberty, and "American way" of life, with our pets and animals on our own private property. Laws are only words written on paper, words that change on society's whim, and are interpreted differently daily by politicians, lawyers, judges, and policemen. We cannot by total reliance on law, escape our "duty" to judge right and wrong, and take "action" to stop the tyranny at "Freedom's Gate." For a person's religion is not worth it's salt, if the animals and pets are not the better for it. ![]() ![]() ![]() The one thing that kept me from losing faith and hope in this life when it got difficult, when I was a child, was my love for our animals. As an adult I still feel that same love and concern for all our animals. I also am very sad when I think that there must be other children who really want and need a pet but are unable to have one these days due to all the Animal Rights Legislation Rules that are being put in place. A while back I wanted to get a purebred dog and thought I would help out and get one from a rescue group on the Internet. Ha! I quickly found out that it would be easier to get a human foster child, with all the hoops the Animal Rights Activists required you to jump through first. I think that is wrong. I then searched to “buy” a purebred dog but quickly realized every breeder I spoke with, wanted you to pay a fortune for one and then sign a contract saying you will spay/neuter it or else they retain partial ownership of it. That is just plain not right either. What gives them the right to infringe upon my pet ownership freedom and liberty, wanting to be a responsible pet owner, not hurting anyone (people or animal). I was disappointed with this type of animal sale contract, because I actually wanted to let my little dog have a litter of puppies which I planned on keeping. I wanted a litter of puppies which would have a guaranteed home as long as I lived, so then what is the crime? I finally ended up getting a male and female mixed breed dog that I will breed and enjoy watching my little dog’s family grow, in my responsible pet owner’s home, for years to come, without having to be put through the “grinder” of many so-called “humane” animal rescue facilities, that seemingly put a human thru “unreasonable and inhumane” treatment of the person wanting to adopt a pet, just to take a good dog or pet home to love and care for. At least these mutt puppies I bring into the world will be healthy and well cared for. Even though I am not paying some group to list their birth or their lineage (which is basically unknown) the dogs will still lick my hand, and give me the same love and affection, that I have for these mixed dogs. I was lucky to be able to afford to buy these mixed dogs, as I am on a seemingly fixed income, (not government support income mind you), but an actual job working income, that does not go too far. While I was shopping at a local store for material to make little doggy coats (as my kids grew up and left - I now take care of my mixed puppies, as my extended family, in my home), the lady at the checkout register told me that her 2 granddaughters had been wanting a puppy for several years but couldn't have one. She said they lived in an apartment and could not afford to buy a small dog for the “excessively high prices” or more, in ownership spay/neuter contracts, that these animal shelters and breeder sellers go for, due to all the new legislations/laws and restrictions being placed upon them, by animal rights groups and “their” Legislators. I thought that was really sad. The very children who would most benefit from having a dog can't have one. I don't suppose they have money for a lot of things that wealthier families can give to their children (lessons, X-boxes, i-pods, vacations, clothes, toys). It seems now days, that love, devotion, and responsibility, in owning a pet, is “now” based upon a person’s profit, or income, and expenses in Vet Bills, to prove you “love” the pet animal, not in actual God's love in daily practice, kindness, and charity to the pet itself, on a daily basis. Having a little dog, mixed or pure breed, would mean a lot to kids. But now, thanks to "perverted" actions of the "Humane Society of the United States - HSUS", PETA, Animal Rights Rescue Groups, Animal Rights Legislators, and Breeders caught up in pandering to all these Legislators to try and remain “exempt” from their laws, thru outrageous fees, and maintenance costs, pushes the dog’s purchase price completely out of that families reach, that would “most benefit” from owning a pet dog. I think that is tragic. I have seriously considered finding that woman again and giving her one of my puppies if and when I get some. Some how I don't think a person’s ability to pay almost 2 weeks salary for a dog reflects whether they would be a good owner. Hopefully the efforts of people such as yourself, with the assistance of Animals C.L.U.B.- Freedom will help enable more families like that one to enjoy and learn about life and nature from a dog, cat, bird, parrot, rabbit, horse, cow, goat, or any other pet. This attitude probably stems in a large sense from the tendency to humanize dogs. People are not chained; therefore, dogs should not be chained. We will make a case here that generally keeping dogs on chains, given that they get proper daily exercise off the chain, is not only reasonable but actually better for at least working dogs. As appealing as the idea of equating humans and dogs is, we need to recognize the undisputable scientific fact that we are two different species with different needs, perspectives and patterns of behavior. Dogs are basically a product of instincts, developed from the days when the dog was a wild predator, and patterns of behavior, installed mostly in their youth by environment through repetition; not greatly different from humans except that humans have greater ability to change in later life. Dogs as adults are happiest if their life involves consistency, regularity and as little change as possible, not to mention the obvious requirement of fulfillment of their basic needs (food, exercise, companionship and sex). Therefore, to be kept on a chain along with consistency and satisfaction of their basic needs is as acceptable to a dog's psychic as living freely in a small enclosure. Furthermore, there are a number of advantages to both humans and dogs in a kennel with tethering as opposed to runs. These include the following: (1) Dogs on tethers get more and better exercise. A 6-foot tether offers a dog about 113 square feet of living space; a 7-foot tether offers 154 square feet. Contrast this to a 5 x 20-foot run offering 100 square feet, or if two dogs are in it, only 50 square feet per dog. More importantly, dogs on a tether can move (run) continuously forever, albeit in a circle. Dogs in a run are limited to the length of the run, usually not long enough to even allow the dog to break into a lope. The end result of a tethered dog is a dog where the body is physically developed uniformly; muscles in both the front and rear get exercised. A dog in a run develops strong rear leg jumping muscles from jumping against the fence at the ends of the run, and his front end essentially withers away from lack of use. (2) Dogs on tethers get more and better people socialization. People are more likely to move among and touch dogs in a tethered set-up simply because it is easy to do. They can easily move in and out of each dog's area, smother some dogs with attention, and make just a peripheral contact with others. People are discouraged from entering runs with free dogs because gates have to be manipulated and special attention has to be paid to keep dogs from escaping, and this has to be done repeatedly with every dog or two. Thus, a kenneled dog's extra human contact often just consists of a lot of finger tips sticking through chain link squares, compared to the tethered dogs getting a complete person. (3) Kennel clean-up is easier when gates and escaping dogs aren't present. (4) Dogs socialize better with each other and their environment in general when there are not partitions (fences) between them. (5) Dogs get better rest when they learn that no other dog can get into their space. In a run with a companion, or even without a companion but with a dog in an adjacent run, a dog instinctually never lets the thought of the other dog out of his brain. In a tethered set-up dogs seem to quickly recognize that no other dog can get into their circle and that there they are totally safe. Furthermore, dogs learn over a period of time to respect their companions’ areas. When dogs are released to the exercise area, they are quite careful about moving only between or on the fringe of the remaining dogs' areas. Should a dog accidentally get loose, immediately everyone else roars their disapproval, so all dogs, sleeping or otherwise, are forewarned of a possible intruder which increases their feelings of security over time. (6) Dogs on a tether develop dexterity and agility regarding moving around a line. This is very helpful for sled dogs, whose work involves just such abilities. Although a tethering kennel set-up is good in itself, I strongly believe that it should be accompanied with a regular free running exercise routine. Compatible groups of dogs should be turned loose at least once a day to run free in a pen of enough size to allow the dogs to really stretch out at a full gallop without fear of crashing into a fence. I recommend at least 1 acre, and a release time of anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Of course, free exercise can be reduced or even eliminated on days when a dog is worked. It is interesting that tethered dogs released to exercise, really do exercise. Kenneled dogs so-released often tend to not do much running, but just lay-around like they are still in a run. The tethered kennel set-up that I have described here has a lot in common with the life of a predator in the wild, presumably the basis for a dog's basic instincts. First, there is the stalking, then the wild chase and kill, followed by food gorging. Finally, there is a long (20 hours) rest. Then the process is repeated. Liken this to the tethered set-up with a daily free exercise period. |

His Name is Now Puppy./Our © Legal Disclaimer![]() A Dog Named Scamp, Headed for the Pound – His Name is Now "Puppy!" I want to tell you a “true” story, about a dog named Scamp. I can assure you the facts of this story are true, as the dog named Scamp was born in my very own home, once upon a time, about a year ago. But I had only called the dog by it’s generic name, calling the dog “puppy.” My dogs, are a very important and special part of my life. Always have been, always will be. My dogs are truly my “extended family” of sorts, as all my human children have grown up, and found their way. I live alone now; my dogs, and I, paws in hand, and vice versa helping each other to be happy, and always look forward each day to the pursuit of happiness in this life, and hopefully the next as well. My dogs, are rarely mentioned by me personally, in any respect, out of respect for my private life, that is solely fulfilled by my dogs company, not having them for any other reason or motive. No money making schemes, breeding business goals, nor any reason what so ever to make my dogs a public venue. They are, in fact, my family, whom I keep private. But I am compelled by this story to tell you all, about this dog, once mine, named Scamp. About a year ago, I received a very unusual telephone call. It was the owner of one male Lhasa Apso canine dog, named Scamp. The caller stated that he had to give up his dog named Scamp, a male Lhasa Apso dog, because of personal reasons that could not be avoided, and that he was about to take his dog named Scamp to the animal shelter (I call it the pound). Scamp’s owner told me that he had long ago lost my name and number on how to contact me, as I was the original owner of this dog as a puppy. The owner felt he had no alternative but to take the dog to the pound. However, my chance, by god, by whatever reason, maybe coincidence, or eternal intervention (your choice), the owner was surfing on the Internet, and found Animals C.L.U.B.- Freedom web site, and recognized, that the Director of this site, was the original owner (me) of the dog named Scamp. Scamp’s owner immediately called me up and explained that by chance he had found me, and wanted me to know that he was about to be enroute to the dog pound to give up Scamp his dog. The owner wanted to know, if I would be willing to take the dog Scamp back, as he recognized I was the original owner of this dog. Of course, I said yes, I would intervene to prevent this dog from going to the dog pound. I felt a responsibility of having allowed this dog to be born into this world, there for, I should also prevent the dog (long since gone) to be saved from being placed in a dog pound, potentially to die by Euthanization if not adopted out in a reasonable period of time. I drove that same day over an hour to get to the owner of Scamp. Mind you, this dog had only been with me, for it’s original 8 weeks of it’s life, and now it was a year later with no contact with me at all. Upon making contact with the dog Scamp, he was very scared to go near me, and quite frankly seemed to recognize that he (Scamp) was going on a one way trip as well. The hour long trip in the car with Scamp, went smoothly, but was hard on the dog Scamp, in that, he had just lost his owner of one year, and essentially his entire adult life to that point. Scamp was stand offish at a minimum, and probably very stressed as well. Upon arriving home with Scamp, I introduced him to my family of dogs, and needless to say, everyone in the house, was aware that a new dog was on the premises. I talked to Scamp for a little bit calling him by his names “Scamp” but the now adult male dog, still remained somewhat illusive, and cold being that I was actually now a stranger to the dog, after one year apart. I looked at Scamp, and had recalled how this fine dog, had been just a little puppy in my midst once upon a time, and I called in that silly high pitched voice out to him… “here puppy!” As God is my witness, that dog immediately halted it’s whines and whimpers, and looked directly at me, as if that dog had seen a long lost love of it’s papa. I again called to the dog, “Puppy you are home, it’s me, do you remember me puppy?” In a split second, that dog, which I now call “Puppy” burst into a joyful tail wagging free for all roll on the floor, and started barking in the most wonderful tone of affection that a dog can show. “Puppy, fell at my feet, rolling upside down for me to rub his belly, and show me that he was being submissive to my attention, that he trusted me. It took nothing more, that the words and tone of my voice, in a memorable reunion of souls, by a simple but loving word used to describe this canine, I called as an 8 week old dog, “puppy.” I have never at any time, questioned the validity, that animals, and especially dogs, are “living beings with a soul.” And after observing the intact memory of this dog, by the simple one toned word of affection, that I used, calling this dog “puppy” testified to me, that God does in fact take care of his flock, and that flock includes more than just people, it includes the dogs as well. Instantly “puppy” recalled his past as a puppy in my home, and he remembered me, by my voice, tone, and/or name “puppy.” I have never been so happy to see this “puppy” once again, now reborn again, not into an animal shelter, or dog pound to be potentially “put down,” euthanized, but eternal intervention (I call it) allowed “puppy” to be reunited with a loving owner, who cherished this dog, once upon a time, as a puppy. God does work in mysterious ways, even with dogs named “puppy.” I can only say, what I have said before on Animals C.L.U.B.- Freedom, to explain this dog manner of having happy canine memories and a joyful reunion as follows: Your Dogs… They are your friends, your partners, your defenders, your extended family, your dogs. You are their life, their love, their leader. They will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of their heart. You owe it to them to be worthy of such devotion. Your extended family, Your Dogs. This particular Lhasa Apso dog, happens now to be named, “Puppy.” A dog loved, and loving all the way thru. Just once a puppy at heart, but now a devoted canine friend, and once again family member, with every beat of his heart…and now mine as well. God Bless the dogs, and all the “puppies” of this earthly world. You owe it to them to be worthy of such devotion. By Dean A.
